Holistic perspective
According to our ancient science most of the psychological disorders are tridoshika in nature. Due to abuse of senses and accumulation of negative emotions, tridoshas gets vitiated causing stress, anxiety and depression. Since vata is the force responsible for taking an action or move, this is the first dosha which gets vitiated and then the pitta gets disturbed causing emotions which are unmanageable leading to kapha vitiation resulting in gloominess, tamasic tendencies. Vata people are easily stressed and exhibit it through anxiety and related disorders whereas the pitta constitution people are vulnerable to anger and irritability if they get stressed. Kapha people are withdrawn and lethargic and often get into a deep depressive state if they are affected by stress. The mind which is the most powerful tool can mar us if we do not direct them properly.
