A guide for using the CD for the maximum benefit
Ever since you found out that you were pregnant,
you have entered an enchanting time in your life.
The new life growing inside you, completes the circle
of love between you and your life partner.
As the mysterious, hidden treasure grows in your womb,
you will achieve a sense of fulfillment. At the same
time, due to the profound hormonal changes taking
place in your body, you will experience great swings
in your moods. Emotionally, this is a time of great
joy and also, a time of anxiety.
Achieving
tranquility and serenity in pregnancy:
Setting aside a short period of time each day
when you are in a calm and relaxed state, will provide
an environment where your unborn child is bathed in
love.
In
the daily rush, parents usually neglect to set aside time
for this. Therefore, bonding between you and the child is
often overlooked. Listening to Vedic chanting affords an
opportunity to be in harmony with the new life growing
inside your womb. For you and your husband, this is the
first step in early parenting.
Prenatal
Lessons For Your Baby!
There
is a large body of research about the effect of structured
sound on the unborn child. It has been shown that the
fetus will respond to sound from the 24th week
of pregnancy. While sounds are greatly altered as
they pass from the outside world to the ear of the fetus,
there is more than sufficient stimulation to be heard in
the womb. There
are documented changes in the heart rate and breathing
pattern of the fetus in response to sound stimulation.
There
is evidence that the fetus is having first language
lessons in the womb. The inflections of the mother tongue
are conveyed not only through speech but also, most
importantly, through song. What the baby learns in utero
are the intonational patterns of sound and the frequencies
of a language in his/her particular culture.
In
India, Vedic chanting provides a culturally appropriate
sound for both the mother and the child. The inherent
resonance and rhythms in the chanting will stimulate the
child and provide a strong basis for later learning
patterns.
Listening
To Ojas For The Expectant Mother:
- Sit
in a relaxed atmosphere with no external disturbances
- Let
the CD / cassette play at a volume that you would
normally use for watching TV or listening to the radio
- DO
NOT USE HEADPHONES – you want the baby to hear the
mantras too!
- 15
– 20 minutes of listening per session is enough. You
can have one or two sessions per day.
- The
chanting will lead you into a state of complete
relaxation – if you fall asleep, do not worry. The
baby is still listening to the sounds of the chanting!
