Anger
Anger is a powerful emotion unfortunately used destructively by most people. It not only causes social damage but also causes damage to the body, mind and soul. Science proves that when we get angry, our heart pumps more rapidly, blood pressure goes up, blood flow accelerates, muscles tense, and more sugar is added to the blood stream. Headaches, tension, stomach problems are also said to have been connected with anger. It turns on every muscle group and organ of the body, anger be present to mobilize the fight or flight response.

According to our ancient science pitta represents the fire element in our body. When pitta is active and balanced state, it is exhibited by brightness, ojas and vigour, at the same time when it gets excess in our body it becomes destructive to oneself. Since pitta is present in blood and stomach region of our body, when it gets vitiated it often leads to a blood related disorder like hyper tension or ulcer and indigestion. Pitta also has a psychosomatic origin causing emotions like anger, irritability causing adverse effects on our health. During the anger episodes caused by pitta vitiations, it often affects the blood pressure levels, raising them and losing balance over oneself. Although pitta constitution are prone to anger, other constitutions also experience anger episodes with the reactions been different like vata may experience restlessness and kapha people may experience stubbornness.
